Instagram pictures

Can you believe this picture of Yara sitting up?  She did this on Monday, 11-26.  Sure I was sitting right there and she didn't last long but still!  Just a week shy of being 3 months and 1 week!

Yara in the same play bounce that Kau'e used!
 Just relaxing!
Playtime in the morning while Mom is making pancakes for breakfast!

Thanksgiving 2012

 Happy Halloween 2012
Fall Carnival activity at our church.  Yara's first Halloween and Kau'e's first real trick or treating adventure. He used Zander's Buzz outfit for the activity.  He did not want to keep the hood part of the costume on.

Thanksgiving 2012

Memom and Granddad getting things ready for the feast!  They weren't too happy about me taking pictures of them working but I told them I wanted to document it for our children and children's children so they know what Memom and Granddad's food was like at Holiday time.  My mom has always used my father's mother's stuffing recipe and Mom-Mom sure knew how to stuff a turkey.  My dad says my mom's is better than his mother's.

Look at these two kiddos with their father.  Yara's face in the picture below is hilarious.  Nobody was hurting anybody she was just getting hungry.  But it does look like Kau'e is pulling her fingers or something.

The cheese spread that Ellen did up for pre-thanksgiving dinner.  It was sure yummy; Kau'e loved this platter.  The crab dip below is another one of Mom-Mom's recipes (my dad's mom).  It has always had a place in our line up of food at holiday times.  I must say its more delicious after having a baby and going for so long without seafood!  Yum-Yum!

Some of the spread.  First bowl is stuffing straight from the turkey's cavity.  Green beans, mashpotatoes, gravy, yams, cranberry sauce, cole slaw, jello with fruit, corn on the cob, pumpkin cake, too much chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, chocolate chip cookie bars, pumpkin bread, pumpkin bread with chocolate chips, and much more I'm sure I'm missing.
These two watching their tv in the other family room; Disney Junior tv channel.  Kau'e had chocolate on his face from stealing the chocolate Andes from the candy dish that my mom had out.  He didn't know how to unwrap the wrap on the Andes candy so he would bite into one and then get it out.  He's a crazy man!  But here is Miss B his older cousin by 4 months.  She is a Yo Gabba Gabba lover too just like Kau'e.

Miss Yara 3 months old on Thanksgiving day in her most fall looking dress.  She is one precious little girl!
Here is Yara's cousin EE (10 yrs old).  He was watching me take pictures of her and I asked if he wanted one with her.  He is always up for a picture.
Miss B herself with Miss Yara on Thanksgiving morning.  These two are best of friends, I just know it.  Yara was born on Miss B's 2nd birthday.  What a better way for the only two girls (for now) on my side of the family to be best of friends than to be sharing the same birthday.  We have already had discussions of when they are older maybe 5 and 7 to do an American Doll Birthday party!

These three pictures below are of Yara on 10/24/2012 showing off her rolling skills!  I can not believe she is rolling at 2 months and 4 days!

3 Months

This beautiful little girl turned 3 months old, still amazing how fast time flies.  She is a good baby.  Sure we have had our struggles trying to figure her out but I guess that's the beauty of having children, they are all different!  We are still breastfeeding and doing fine "on her terms".  She has a mind of her own.  She doesn't quite have the appetite as her older brother at this age had but she does just fine on the scales.  At her last appointment, nasty cold appointment, she weighed in at 13 lbs 8 oz.  She is just hugging that 51% for weight but she is very long and slender.  Trust me after a tank like Kau'e my body/arms could use a light weight!  Seriously!  She can still wear size 1 diapers (I still like the pampers when they are this little but when they go to size 2 I like huggies better.)  and can wear size 3 month clothing but since she is so long I have pumped her up to size 6 months.  They are little looser around the shoulders/tummy but length wise she needs it with the 6 months.  Sure the waist of the pants fall a little because she has no tummy or bum but length she needs it otherwise everything 3 month would look like capris!

She is not quite on a set schedule as far as sleeping and eating.  She has changed her night feedings from going 4-6 hours of stretches to going to sleep around 8pm and getting up around 11pm or midnight (3-4 hours stretch) and then after that eats every 2 hours on the dot!  It's not bad but its crazy how she changed.  Then during the day there are days that she can go 6 hours without eating and let me tell you if I try to feed her she goes crazy; turns red, screams, cries, shakes, and big tears!  The second I pull away she is fine and perfect again.  Like I said when it comes to eating she has a mind of her own!  So during the day she can do maybe 3 solid feeds.  But I still try to feed her on-demand.  But during the day she gives me two little naps in the morning, 40 minutes each, and then around 3pm she gives me a longer nap and those range from 1 and 1/2 hours to 3 hours.

Her skin has kind of cleared up.  We have good days we have bad days.  But we are still washing her body neck down with cetaphil, face water, lotion neck down with cetaphil, face with vaseline, and head washing every other bath.

We love her and are glad she is with our family!

Since Halloween

On Halloween we not only did a little trick or treating and spook alley fun at my parents house but we officially bought our first house!  We were excited but a little overwhelmed with everything.  Romulo's parents and sister plus her two kids came into town two days after we closed to help us move in.  Pictures of the place to come. I didn't have time to take before pictures so you will only see the after ones when I get around to taking them.

While his family was in town we had Yara's baby blessing.  It was a special time.  Pictures of that to come.  Can you believe I didn't take a single picture.  It was crazy busy.

Kau'e has been really sick; pneumonia.  We have gone to the doctors 6 times since the first of November.  He is hopefully at the end of this and can be a healthy boy again.  But don't be fooled he is his own active self still even down and out being sick!

Yara is a cute little girl!  She def has a mind of her own and lets you know!  She takes a lot of my time but that's only because I am slowly adjusting to have two kids on my own since I'm not living with my parents any more.  Let me pause and take a moment to remember what it was like to live with my mom while I had two little ones...oh heaven it was!  Seriously, it was like having my own lactation consultant at my fingertips 24-7.  If Yara was out of sorts my mom would jump in calm her down and then help me get the right position etc for Yara to nurse.  It was heaven!  But now that I am in the real world and am on my own its another transition to adjust too.  Its been hard but I am alive and the kids are too!

Kau'e is adjusting to the new house himself!  At first either Romulo or myself had to be around because if not he would just cry and cry.  He now is comfortable and loves his basement play area.  He is still up to no good but he is slowly getting to know the rules of the house!  I can't even begin to tell you all the stuff he tries to pull on me and gets into.  He's just EVERYWHERE!  LOL!

Well since I don't have any pictures with this post I will end it.  I will try to add pictures later or write about something that has pictures with it!
