It's Official

I'm going back to work at Morgan Stanley. They called me a few weeks ago with an offer that well I really couldn't say no to. And after accepting it I'm filling out paperwork and such. So, sometime next week or whenever the background checks out I'll be heading back to SF for work. But this time I'm working 25 hrs a week and probably hopefully going to fit it all in 3 days. It should work out fine with my already upcoming busy schedule but I'm excited and who wouldn't want a little extra cash in their pocket. Wish me luck!

My oldest and wisest sister, Sarah, is turning out to be a great example to me. She loves her family and does whatever it takes to make them happy. I love you! And Happy Birthday!

Sun Up and Shining

The first thing that popped into my mind this morning was wanting to head to the Farmer's Market. I was longing to taste the fresh fruits and veggies! Romulo and I made our way to the morning Farmer's Market with a cloth Organic "Save Mother Earth" bag in hand. Walking around the different booths made my eyes big and my mouth water. But we knew we wanted to buy fresh fruit only since summer is coming to an end and most of those fruits will be gone soon. We enjoyed the free tastings of green pluots, white peaches, white nectarines, and Fuji apples. Along our stroll we came across a fresh organic pasta booth that made and sold gnocchi. Knowing how much Romulo was obsessed with gnocchi we bought a bag of Spinach Gnocchi! And at the end of our adventure we couldn't resist a small bag of kettle corn! Walking back to the car with my fresh fruits in hand I felt like a little kid with new found treasures in my bag. Love you Summer time, I will surely miss you! Good thing I live in California and the weather doesn't change that drastically.

Happy Birthday Mom

A mother to me is the most important individual in ones life. We come into this world completely depended on them and grow to love them. Over the years I've come closer to my mom and have come to respect her. Love it or hate it, I am glad with each passing day that I am becoming more and more like my mother! Happy Birthday Little Debbie!

Thoughts for a Thursday!

I miss my sisters! This picture was taken on 8.14.09 at the house my parents rented in La Jolla right before we all went out to Wind an Sea Beach in La Jolla for Bridal Family Pictures for Emma's and Calvin's wedding! My sister's and I were joking around when this picture was shot. I've always been really closed to my sisters and ever since I got married I haven't physically been close to them. We when do get together again with each other man it's like we haven't skipped a beat. It's been fun to see Sarah and Marian become a mother and take that role serious!
I have a new calling in Church as 2nd counselor in the Young Women's organization and it brings back so many memories of me sharing YW's with my sisters. I am the middle of 5 girls and I always had 2 other sisters with me in YW's. I was either with my two older sisters (Sarah and Marian) or my two younger sisters (Ellen and Emma). I always had the "buddy system" down and felt comfortable doing whatever as long as they were with me! Just last week we got 3 new girls in YW's and they happen to be sisters. I smiled when I saw that bond and how they each took care of one another in this new stage in their life.

Obsessed with LEGO's

Easton has a HUGE obsession with Lego's. The first night we were in La Jolla Easton told his mom that he needed to buy a Lego set, that he couldn't wait to go to LEGOland, that he NEEDED to build something or he would go crazy! I love that kid! After 4 days of being so close to LEGOland, little EE had his wish come true! Here are a few pictures of his adventure! Look familiar?

Wedding in Sunny Bright California

My baby sister, Emma, got married over the weekend (8.15.09) in the San Diego LDS Temple. My whole family flew to San Diego Ca for 5 days and enjoyed every moment. My parents rented a house in the Bird Rock region of La Jolla Beach for my whole family to stay. It was about 2 blocks from the beach and we couldn't have had a better time living under one house with my family for a few days. Besides the wedding we took family pictures at La Jolla's Wind an Sea Beach, visited the La Jolla Cove Sea Lions and beached it one day, Old Towne San Diego, USS Midway Air Carrier tour, walked the GasLamp Quarters in San Diego, ate at a Brazilian Restaurant Rei Do Gado, and drove over the bridge to Coronado Island to eat at Costa Azul. Other family members went to the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Legoland, Disneyland, SeaWorld, and much more! Enjoy the pictures!

I Love To See The Temple

Memories,Smiles, Laughs, Cries, & Band-Aids

My littlest sister, Emma, is getting married in a week (next Saturday August 15) in San Diego, CA so my whole family made it a point to be in NOVA for her endowments in the Washington D.C. Temple. That wasn't too hard for my family considering Emma and I are the only ones who live outside of VA. So Romulo, myself, Emma and Calvin all flew to VA for this event. It was amazing to be with my whole family and to add another one to the crazy large group! We were able to spend quality time together, shop together, have a bridal shower for Emma, go to the Temple together, etc. etc. Here are some pictures to tell the story of what went on.Everyone watching Sarah give Aiden a bath. Saturday night we celebrated Emma's upcoming wedding with a bridal shower. Me with my mom and 4 sisters plus one cute little nephew. Haha, got to love kids.My only brother, who's the oldest, Thomas who is the BIGGEST of all the kids. Thomas showing off on his skills on the razor. Plus, he is feeling better than ever after his surgery which was a little over a month and a half ago. Okay so Romulo taught everyone a new fun game. It's a game Romulo would play in the streets of Brazil growing up. It's called BATS! It's played with 4 people. You take sticks (Romulo used to use broomsticks), a ball (small field hockey ball works great that's what we used here), 2 blocks of wood, and chalk to draw 2 circles (see picture below). Someone rolls the ball to the opposite side to the opposite team and that person who is holding a stick tryings to hit the ball. If the ball hits the block of wood then they switch from hitting to pitching. Romulo and Molly Kay were on a team. So Romulo would be the pitcher and Molly Kay would be the catcher. Hudson was trying to hit the ball and his teammate Thomas would stand on the opposite side by Romulo. If Hudson hit the ball Thomas and him would have to run back and forth touching sticks and touching the circle on the grown. They would stop running when the ball was back in play. I'm going to have to get Romulo to explain it in better terms. Here Romulo made contact with the ball. Romulo pitching it to Hudson and his teammate Thomas standing beside Romulo watches and hopes for his teammate Hudson to hit the ball so they can make points or score by running back and forth touching the circles.Here is what the circles look like on both sides of the playing field. The smaller circle on top is where you would place a block of wood. The bigger bottom circle is where you need to place your stick when the ball is in play or when you are trying to score your stick has to touch this circle for points to be made. Hudson and Thomas running back and forth making points but having to touch sticks when they run back and forth.

While that was going on Zander and myself were playing the the chalk. We were having fun drawing and writing on the blacktop. Plus, Easton who is learning how to ride the electric dirt bike was having a time of his life. Until a wipe out got him. He took a turn too fast on gravel and hit the front brake instead of the back one and well you know what happened. He ate it. Here are the pictures to prove it. Sorry E-E. But no worries he got all cleaned up and patched up and was back on it in no time.Then later on that same night my dad joined in on the fun of BATS but it didn't take him long to have a prize of his own! Thankfully he was fine but he took a dive that caused him to get a boo-boo too!
