Memorial Day 2012
Even though I didn't get much sleep and was still a little tender around the belly, Memorial Day 2012 turned out to be okay! Sure we had plans but that's okay. Nothing a little back porch blow up pool couldn't fix! Kau'e loved the pool and his cousins sure did enjoy the water too! Before and after a cookout with the family the boys, and Romulo too, took a "swim" in the pool!
Happy 17 months Baby Boy Kau'e!
E.R. Visit #2
The first Sunday of this month I found myself in the Birthing Inn (Labor and Delivery) at the hospital because I was having pain around the belly button area. Nothing ever surfaced and after a dose of pain meds I was sent home. The next day I felt fine. Over the last 3 weeks or so I have had days that that area is tender but nothing too major. Well last night was different!
I had the same pain but a little more intense this time around as the last. I was at the Birthing Inn to be monitored, baby monitored, and then sent to E.R. to get checked out. Well, after a long story that I won't bore you with, after waiting for almost 2 hours to be seen by an E.R. doctor my pain was gone. Sure I was tender but nothing major. But I did get blood work done and had an ultrasound!
Sure enough I was told that I have an umbilical hernia! Yup, a hernia AND pregnant! Nice, huh? Can't I just have a normal pregnancy. I mean I was already "labeled" as high risk, now I'm HIGH HIGH risk! So, if this pain comes back again I am to head to E.R. while driving call Ob-Gyn and tell people at E.R. to forget monitoring the baby for 20 minutes so I can see a doctor while I'm in pain and while this little bean that likes to be rock hard is sticking out of my belly button area!
Life is fun huh?! But the serious question was answered, I can still be pregnant and have surgery to fix the hernia IF THAT IS NEEDED! I need to go to a general surgeon this week plus my ob-gyn to confirm things. My goal before this hernia thing was to make it to 36 weeks AND it's still the goal but its MY goal to make it without surgery! (Not sure if that will happen though.)
So this week will bring lots of fun new things and something to talk about. Right?
Positive to experience was that we got to see baby girl in the ultrasound! She is looking good and is measuring great. Her head is right on at 26 weeks and 4 days but her legs, tummy, and something else are coming in at 27 weeks and 4 days!

Valley Forge
Over the week while we were in Philadelphia with Romulo we took the evening on Friday and went to Valley Forge. It was super humid and hot all day so we figured we wait until around 4pm. Even though it was cooler it was still hot for Kau'e and my pregnant body! But we got to visit the Visitor Center and bought a CD that allows you to drive around the sites and listen to what's what. It was nice.
I'll Do Better
Life has been a little busy these days so I will try to do better and keep you updated on the happenings of the Aguilar clan. But in the meanwhile I'll humor you with these two pregnant pictures.
Happy Mother's Day to me (24 weeks and 5 days)
(26 weeks and 1 day)

Nursing School Graduation
My younger sister, Ellen, graduated with her second degree in Nursing! After her first degree, from VT, she worked a few years to then realize it wasn't what she wanted to do...so she went back to school! She did a fast program at SU and got her nursing degree. She is super smart like that and got a 4.0 all semesters! I wish I had an ounce of her brain power! Seriously! Plus she has this amazing special bond with Kau'e! He loves his Auntie!

16 month pictures of Kau'e
On Sunday a good friend of my sister's took these amazing pictures of Kau'e while she wanted to test out a new flash she got for her camera! I am grateful for these pictures and the moment it captures in the life of Kau'e. Kau'e at 16 months and 11 days.

Belly Button
Sunday evening I was having a lot of belly button area pain. I took some Tylenol to help relieve some of the pain but nothing. I tried going to sleep but the pain of laying down killed me. Finally after 5 hours of sharp intense constant pain I told Romulo we needed to call the Dr. It was around 1am and we did so. After a few minutes of chatting she asked us to come in. I got my sister to listen for Kau'e while Romulo and I went to the hospital. It was crazy driving there thinking this can't be happening...not now at 23 weeks.
Luckily after monitoring baby and myself things looked okay but still not knowing why I was in pain. Saw doctor and after a while she thought maybe I should go home and try to rest with some help of pain meds. Then in the morning I would give them a call and give them an update. (Baby's heart rate stayed around 135-145 and my blood pressure was 105/59.) By the time we got home the pain med was kicking in and I could finally lay down without pain. All day today I was in and out of sleep and thankfully no pain. I have tender spots but nothing like last night.
Last nights event made me realize that I need to start taking it easy so Baby Girl can "cook" for a little longer. Hopefully until at least 36 weeks.

23 weeks and 4 days
23 weeks and 4 days belly shot! At this point in the pregnancy I am feeling okay. I am tired but I think its the combo of taking care of Kau'e and being pregnant. I haven't really seen any effects since starting the progesterone shots. But we will see if I start to see some later on in this pregnancy. It's crazy to think that IF MY WATER WAS TO BREAK like it did with Kau'e I would have about 8 more weeks with this pregnancy. And let me tell you I am NOT READY!
No major cravings of food besides that when I wake up until about 10am I eat about 3 mini breakfasts because I can't seem to get enough to eat. By lunch time I'm ready to eat and then by 5pm I eat a smaller dinner because I'm full from the morning eating!
Baby girl is kicking a lot! She likes to sit really low and kick my bladder. I get up about 6 times during the night to go to the bathroom. That's fun!
My belly button is starting to get sore from the stretching and is also starting to turn out! LOL!
