I'm an Aunt, again!

I love being an Aunt! It's the best role ever! Send them gifts and spoil them rotten right! My little sister had her first baby on July 22 at 10:40pm to a healthy little boy, Sawyer Elijah, weighing in at 6lbs 15oz and 18 inches long!

And I missed the birth by 1 week. Last weekend Romulo and I made a last minute (car) trip to Utah to see not only my (then) 38 week pregnant sister but also Romulo's sister and her two kids and his mom! It was fun to hang out with family especially rubbing my sister's belly even if she didn't like it! Ha! It was fun getting pedicures, shopping for baby/mommy stuff, and eating!!! But what wasn't fun was me getting some stomach virus! Ouch did that stink! It was so bad Romulo flew me home instead of enduring the 10-12 hour drive home. Best hubby ever! It was torture any way I traveled but made it home! This stomach virus eventually got the best of Romulo too! We both were out for 3 days, but we're much better now! Thank goodness.

Well I wish I had pictures of our weekend and of my new little nephew but I don't. But once I do I will make sure to post!

It's the eve of Romulo's birthday and I am wondering what you get the boy that has everything in the world? Happy Birthday Romulo! I love you.

Thoughts from the Past

6 years ago this month I made my first visit to Brazil and fell in love! Yes, I fell in love with Brazil but I fell in love with one of the most amazing Brazilian! (I know too many amazing Brazilians to call Romulo the ONE AND ONLY! Even though he is my one and only! You get it!) I arrived on a Wednesday and by Friday (July 2 2004) I was engaged! Yup, it took me 3 days to realize I needed him in my life for ever! And for the rest of our time there (a whole month) we traveled around Brazil to meet his family and also to see the Beautiful Country of Brazil! I love Brazil, I love Romulo, I love his family, and most of all I love my life with this Brazilian.

It's been an amazing 6 years since we got engaged and on July 3rd it will be an amazing 5 years and 10 months since we got married!

Oakland LDS Temple

This morning we had the opportunity to go to the Oakland LDS Temple with our friends, Borders. Andrew and Romulo were mission companions at one point (in Hamilton Ward) and have been friends since. When we got married Andrew actually came out for our wedding; that was special. This past week we've had the best of time with the Borders family.

While we were at the temple we were able to do some of my family members work and those spirits sure were present there today. I felt very honored to be able to do their work with Romulo and great friends. Plus, its always a beautiful view up there in the Oakland Hills.

I've Been Wanting These

TOMS and I finally got them. We were in the Haight Ashbury district and I came across this shoe store and in the window they sold TOMS. The hardest thing was deciding what color to get. But the coolest thing is that every shoe that is bought TOMS give a pair of shoes to a kid in need.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

That's just what we did on Tuesday! We saw another baseball game but this time it was a little more special for me because the SF Giants played the team I grew up watching, Baltimore Orioles. It was kind of fun to see both teams playing with very similar colors (black and orange). I was talking to my dad a few days prior and he joked that the Baltimore Orioles are more like an AA team than Major League. Oh well, it still made me happy to have some fellow Baltimore players and fans around. And who knew that the Orioles would end up winning! They beat the Giants 4-1. It was pretty cool! Thanks O's!

The Wait Is Over

Our Baby Blue Eyes (our Mini Cooper) finally has licenses plates on! Our little Mini is officially a big kid! Now time to play with all the other Mini Coopers in SF!

Funny story, while our friends the Yeates were here we played the Punch Buggy game but instead of VW Bugs we played it with Mini Coopers because SF is filled with them! It's super fun! I think I gave Romulo a good bruise or two! Ha-Ha

Celebrate

One of Disneyland's themes is to "Get Wild & Celebrate". And that is just what Romulo and I did on Friday. We woke up that morning with Romulo telling me that he wanted to take me somewhere. As his mind got thinking he said to me, "Let's go see the Wuehler's and go to Disneyland too!". Our good friends the Wuehler's live in Malibu (Pepperdine) and have been telling us for some time to come visit them. So, we did just that. We called our friends and asked if we could stop by and stay for a day or two and join them at Disney. They have season passes so they are most likely there weekly if not more! Probably more!

We both had to work Friday so we dashed around the apartment and got as much together as possible before heading to work. I got off a little early and was able to get most together by the time Romulo got home. Then we were off on an adventure. We arrived in Malibu around Midnight. And then on Saturday morning we were up and going at 6:45am and arrived at Disneyland at 9am (when the park opens). We were there all day from 9am to Midnight. We saw it all and had the best of time because our own "personal tour guide" showed us the ins and outs. Thanks Vanessa for doing this!

Now if you didn't know I have NEVER been to any of the Disney parks. I grew up in Va but never made it down to Disneyworld. Romulo has been to Disneyworld when he was finishing up his internship with PWC in the Summer of 2007. And ever since he has been telling me that he wants to take me sometime because it is so magical. And let me tell you it is MAGICAL.
