Past Few Days

The past few days have been busy! Nothing major to report but just normal busy! Ever since finding out we are having a girl I have been looking at baby girl clothes and getting really excited! Now, don't get me wrong boys are FUN to dress and there are awesome clothes for boys but there's something about dressing a little girl! This weekend my mom and I are going to be hitting the stores (with coupons in hand)! Plus, I've been looking around and see that there are a lot of different consignment sales coming up! That will be exciting!

In other news, today I took my second 17P (progesterone) shot for this pregnancy. I will receive weekly shots until week 36 or of course if I deliver early. Hopefully not. The high risk doctor at the ultrasound the other day said that it was helpful that I take precaution and take the shots but knowing that with my last pregnancy my water broke and then days later started to contract that these shots probably won't help me! He said that I need to daily focus as hard as possible to my body and report anything to my ob. He said that the progesterone shots would help much better for me if I had contractions before my water breaking. But nobody really knows what happened last time nor do they know what could happen with this one. So its better to have all bases covered than none. Plus, my cervix looked healthy and good!

The other week Kau'e bumped his nose and had a little scab on it. It was almost healed when wouldn't you know it outside while playing he fell again and hit his nose. So, what was almost gone is now still there! Oh well, he's an adventurous boy! He has adjusted really well being here with my family. He is learning his limits and testing some everyday. He responds well to everyone and enjoys the kids that my mom watches. It helps me out because trust me when its the weekends I have no clue what to do with them because he is high energy! Now, I know why people have a second child because the 1st one entertains the second! Just kidding!

Romulo has finished packing up the apartment and has sent them off. The boxes and the car were both all picked up yesterday from the moving company we are using. So now we wait for Romulo to arrive here in the East Coast. Once he arrives we will be heading up to Philadelphia to find a place to live. We still are wondering if we should find a temp apartment or find something that will last us longer so we don't have to "move" again. But if we do a temp apartment it would be just for 6 months (to get thru this pregnancy) and bare minimal items in it! We will see!

Aguilar Baby #2

Is a GIRL! We are thrilled to bring a little girl into our family. She will have an older brother who will love having her as his friend.

(Ultrasound done at 20 weeks and 5 days)

Little girl is just as perfect as ever! She looked long and lean on the ultrasound. She is measuring a week ahead of schedule and is already 1 lb! I will need to scan in the ultrasound pictures but she has long legs, long feet and even has my toes! She was a busy soul; flipping, turning, moving! The tech was super nice and allowed me to call Romulo and have him on the phone while she announced the gender! It was special considering he wasn't there! He will have a little buddy and a little girl to be wrapped around his fingers!

After the ultrasound I bought two balloons; pink and blue. Came home put Kau'e in his BIG BROTHER t-shirt and let him pick a balloon. Of course he went for the blue one so it was fun to say to him that he wouldn't be having a brother but a sister!

19 weeks and 4 days

I've been really bad at taking pictures of myself with this pregnancy. A lot has been going on and I haven't forgotten that I'm pregnant its just when I think of taking a picture something "more important" comes into play. But here I am at 19 weeks and 4 days after Easter Sunday church.

Easter 2012

Happy Easter 2012! This day was special since we got to spend it together as family at my parents house. Every year my parents do an Easter Egg Hunt in their yard and its a blast. So I was excited to know that Kau'e was old enough to participate. He loved it! He ran start to his section of eggs and started picking them up. Every time he picked up an egg he would shake it! It was hilarious! He kept at it. My mom only had 15 eggs set aside for him to gather thinking he wouldn't be into it much but nope, he wanted more! It was adorable!

Sick

Being sick is hard enough but being sick while pregnant and having a 15 month old active little boy also sick is misery! I am so grateful that I am staying with my parents while going through this whole trial! The week before Kau'e and I left for VA we were sick but we were getting better. At least we thought. The whole flight Kau'e cried and was miserable. I didn't know what to do because this was his 15th flight after all and had never acted this way. I couldn't get him to suck on water or milk, I couldn't hold him while sitting down, I couldn't sing to him, nothing! He would barely stop crying if I walked to the back of the plane and stood up holding him while swaying back and forth or walking back and forth! I thought I was going to die because holding him at 18 weeks pregnant and him being 32 lbs it was hard! And that flight was almost 5 hours long! He slept 2 30 minute stretches for me and that's it! Did I mention that this was a red-eye flight? Yeah people hated me! I couldn't do anything. A little under 2 hours into the flight while walking down the aisle to the back he threw up on me! Yeah! That was lovely! I made it to the back to get into one of the two bathrooms and they were both occupied. So there I stood with throw up on me a screaming baby and nowhere to clean up. I waited! Finally got into a bathroom and put him on the baby changing table and cleaned us both up as best as I could while crying! I cried so hard! I didn't know what to do! I'm glad I put a onsie underneath all of his clothes because otherwise he would have been a naked baby until I got to my seat to find his other set of clothes I packed! Me on the other hand! Yeah, it was lovely! Not the best "perfume" I had smelled in my life! I don't know how I pulled it together and kept it together! I guess I knew I had no other choice! It was the worse night of my life but I made it!

Go figure that a few hours after the flight while at my parents home I decided to take him to Urgent Care because well he was still not right! Took him there and BAM double ear infection! Nice...poor guy!

He got all meds that he needed and 7 days later no change! He wasn't getting better! Took him back to Urgent Care, still double ear infection plus other stuff (sinus infection, eye infection, etc.) so more meds!

I got sick half way thru his first round of meds and found myself at the doctors getting meds myself! It wasn't the best situation for a pregnant woman but I had no choice since I don't want to be in the hospital taking harsher drugs.

So we slowly are on the mends and hopefully this week we will be well!

The New Adventures

New adventures are coming to the Aguilar home!

Romulo and I first came to the San Francisco Bay Area in the summer of 2007 for an internship with PwC. We loved it here and knew if PwC extended an offer we would take it. Sure it was the furthest place from both of our homes but we knew we were meant to be there. After Romulo graduated from BYU in May 2008 we packed up and moved to the Bay Area. And we have called it our home ever since.

We have been blessed here and have brought a beautiful little boy into the world here! We knew if the opportunity came for us to move back to the East Coast we would but we wouldn't necessarily make it a priority to push it. So earlier this month we were extended the offer to transfer offices for Romulo. But with this little baby on the way and me being high risk we knew things would move quickly; just didn't think it would be this quick! Two days into the talks we were told things were finalized and we could move whenever we wanted. With me being high risk with this pregnancy and needing to be monitored every 2 weeks we knew we needed to move quickly!

Over the past few weeks we have sold things, boxed up our apartment and have prayed about what to do! After a lot of thought we knew that we needed to move and start this adventure!

Romulo's new office with PwC will be in the city of Philadelphia, which is only 3 hours north of where my family lives in Northern VA. He will most likely start in the beginning of May. In the meanwhile, he will work here in SF and finish packing up the apartment. Kau'e and I leave today for VA!

Its a bittersweet decision to leave a month before Romulo but knowing that I need to find a doctor quickly so my monitoring can continue we knew it was the best.

So tonight while your falling asleep or are asleep think of me while I fly with Kau'e on the red-eye to VA! Ha-Ha! We should be fine since Kau'e has flown so much in the past but still with me being pregnant and knowing I won't sleep much just pray for me! I'm just glad we delayed our flight since we have been sick. We were suppose to fly last Thursday but we both had nasty colds plus Kau'e had the croup. Now that we are about 90% better things should be better, right!

Wish us luck! We are excited for this adventure. And East Coast here we come!

Bath Time

Kau'e is so much fun to watch in the water. I can't wait til summer comes so I can get him in the pool! Plus, I've been looking into Mommy and Me classes to do in the pool! But bath time is a fun time in the Aguilar home.
