Movement

Little Kau'e is really moving these days! He is crawling all over the place and then has even mastered pulling up! He will crawl across the floor to a little picnic table my mom has in the house for the Grandkids and he loves to pull up on it. I mean why not, its just his size! It's really cute to see him figuring things out; he loves to test his limits and see just how far he can reach for things without falling! But with everything fun comes trouble. And Kau'e has learned that with these new tricks comes bumps and bruises. Here he is with a busted lip and scratched nose. But these little nicks don't stop this boy. He is after all nicknamed Muscles around the house!

Sewing with Mom

So, I'm the first one to admit that I never cared too much about sewing until well recently! But I've always wanted to learn; secretly! Every time I go home I always want my mom to show me how to sew but time goes by too fast and it always gets away from us! Well, not this time! With me being home full time now and having a sewing machine even though I've only looked at it in the box I need to learn! New hobby!

Since being back home in VA for almost a month now my mom and I have had a lot of time on our hands to get around to the projects we've always talked about! I went to Jo-Ann's and got some fabric for pillows! And let me tell you they have turned out fabulous! Pictures to come! But we were able to sneak in another one! My mom showed me how to make a bread wrap for a basket. The fabric we used was from two of my Grandmother's table clothes. The yellow one was a table cloth she only used for Sunday dinners and the other one was just a neutral lace one. I think it turned out great and its something memorable.

42nd Annual Bluemont Fair

Enjoy old-fashioned fun at our country fair held in the historic village of Bluemont, in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains.

With over thirty types of attractions, there's something everyone will enjoy. Here's a sampling of the fun you'll find:

Small town country atmosphere
Live demonstrations of historic crafts
Over 100 juried crafters
Lots of great food
Live music (including bluegrass, folk, and an organ grinder)
Games and fun for children

The Bluemont Fair is sponsored by the Bluemont Citizens Association. Proceeds are used to fund street lighting, local student scholarships, community beautification, historic building improvements within the village and support of local service organizations.

The family loaded up together and headed out to Bluemont. I love the old country feel and the history that is woven into the feel of the fair!

Baby Modeling the Diaper Jeans

So since we've been here in VA for a while now, we've been buying diapers and such in small quantities and well this one was on sale and why not! Love my little baby model!

Never Forget

10 years ago we will never forget where we were at and what happened to our Country.

Yesterday while driving to Old Town we pasted the Pentagon and even drove past the memorial site that they have built. It made me smile to see everything built back up and to see how much stronger our country is because of that. Sure it made me reflect on those that have lost loved ones but over the 10 years we have become better in many ways!

Old Town Alexandria Art Festival

Saturday my sister Marian, Romulo, Kau'e and I ventured into Old Town to look at the Art set up that was along King Street. I love the old colonial charm, the brick, cobble stone sidewalk/road, the history that fills the air, and seeing the 18th - 19th century architecture.

Happy Birthday Dad

Today we celebrated my dad's 60th birthday! I love this man! We had fun with dinner, cake, and presents. My dad is such a ham! When we gave him the watch we kids bought for him he started to pose! Ha!

Yes, we even put 60 candles on his cake but this time we made sure it wasn't trick candles! We did that for his 50th birthday and we thought we were going to burn the house down. I must say it was my fault, I bought the wrong candles! Oops!

Labor Day

For Labor Day we were able to get all of the cousins together (minus one) and take some outside pictures. Between the eating and the rain showers I think we were able to get some good ones! Kau'e enjoys playing with his cousins (on mom's side).

Fun Day

Well even with it being our anniversary and we are apart from each other, Kau'e and I made the best of it! It was after all Easton's birthday and he had one great party! (It's also Ethan's birthday! Happy Birthday Buddy!)

Here is what we did at the party:

Went down a slide with Cousin Hudson.

And

I wish I would have thought about taking pictures but earlier today my Dad took me out for lunch to celebrate my anniversary! I thought it was adorable and he even took me to a place that has a lot of meaning to Romulo and I. We ate lunch at the Red Fox Inn tavern! I just love that place in Middleburg! Love the history and the horse country that it is. Thanks Dad. It was fun to have a Daddy-Daughter date.

7 Years

Married and the first one apart from each other! OH well, at least we know we will have forever more anniversaries. Love you Romulo!
